The normal ranks:
King: There are three of these that rule over the three alliances. They are the ultimate power for that alliance, and answerable to no other.
Queen: The kings chosen lady, often she has control over the alliances should her mate die before the heir is ready to take over. The king often delegates the power of the queen, and it varies from each royal couple to royal couple.
Prince: Usually the oldest son of the King and Queen. Usually takes over the role of King.
Princess: The daughter, eldest, of the King and Queen. Takes over should no other heir appear.
Herd Leader (Lord): A horse that has claim to a territory. Often used as references on day to day situations amungst the common horses by the king. Not much power as far as it goes.
Herd member: A horse within a herd, be it mare, stallion, or foal.
Foal: A foal of the herd leader or King and a common mare.
The Military ranks:
The military is simply horses who feel they cannot function in a normal herd. The strict hierarchy is kept, and life continues. The actual military life is rather normal, despite the odd ranks. Most answers will be answered with sir or ma'am, and most of these horses are rather hard nosed bastards. Lights tend not to hang out in the military, but the darks, and a few of the neutrals that had participated, find the tension a little soothing.
* Some members CAN be applied for when creating a horse.
The General: Something akin to a King. This position can be challenged for by anyone who thinks they can take it away. There are two generals, either one can be of the same, or different alliance. Most of the horses that have gained this position, want a go at being King, or start another war. ( Cannot be applied for)
Lt. General: This is the right hand of the General. When in the General's absence, this horse is next highest ranking. This position can be held by either stallion or mare. There is one Lt. General per army. ( Cannot be applied for)
Lieutenant: This position is what you might call a senior most herd member. There are a few horses that hold this position. Can be used by stallion or mare. ( CAN be applied for)
Corporal: A corporal is a basic herd member, nothing of great importance. ( CAN be applied for)
Private: The lowest rank in this unorthodox herd. They are the lowest of the low, and often aren't considered important. Often these are the newest members of the herd, or have done something to fall from a higher rank.
{ CAN be applied for}
Special ranks
Avatars: These are the horses that have the spirit living within them. If the spirit of the element residing within them shows itself, it's eyes will glow the corresponding color. Often there will be a double voice. The avatars are mortal, and live and die as normal horses will.
Ghosts: This is a dead horse that has been allowed to continue to walk the world. These are rare, and can be evil, or good, or perhaps a normal creature that just is bored.[/size]
